How to Open Web Links in Chrome Instead of Safari on iPhone and iPad Running iOS 12

Opening links in Chrome is possible using the Shortcuts app on iPhone. So make sure you have Shortcuts install on your iPhone and iPad along with Google Chrome.

Step #1. Open the Shortcuts app on your iPhone or iPad and navigate to 'Gallery' at the bottom bar.

Step #2. Now in the search box, enter Chrome and tap on Search.

Step #3. From the search result, tap on 'Open in Chrome' and on the next screen tap on 'Get Shortcut' and it will be added to Shortcuts Library.

Step #4. Now tap on the Library at the bottom bar in the Shortcuts app and tap on the ellipsis on the 'Open in Chrome' shortcut.

Step #5. Now tap on the toggle icon located below 'Done' button at the top-right side of the screen.

Step #6. On the next screen, tap on 'Add to Home Screen.' Besides that, you can also edit the shortcut icon, Add to Siri, and do a few more customization to suit your preference.

Step #7. Tap on Share icon → Tap on Add to Home Screen → Tap on Add.

Now that you have Chrome Shortcuts ready. Launch any app from where you can copy the link.

Step #8. Open any app from where you can copy web link. The link is copied to the clipboard, and the same is accessible by the Open in Chrome shortcut we just created.

Step #9. All you need to do now is to tap the 'Open in Chrome' icon from the Home Screen, and it will automatically access clipboard and open the link you just copied.
